When Water Meets Fire-Epilogue by ~waterearthgoddess:iconwaterearthgoddess:

“Edward, I am going to explode,” Felicity stated with absolute certainty as she impatiently jumped up and down.
“And I am and going to kill myself if you do not let me finish my work!” Edward exclaimed with an exasperated laugh.  “And I know that you are not anxious for this to be completed, but actually are anxious for James to arrive.  And considering this that he has been gone for six months, the longest either of you have been apart since the two of you have been married, I will resist the temptation make you unconscious.”
“You are so kind,” Felicity grimaced at him.
“Edward, how would you feel if it was me who had to leave for six months?” a grandly pregnant Deborah said as she waddled over to him and put a hand on his shoulder and gave him a stern look.  “You would be worse that Felicity would.”
“True,” Edward sighed as he kissed Deborah lightly.  “How are you feeling today, my love?”
“Large,” Deborah laughed.  She added her magic to what Edward was already creating.
“You two are as mushy and sentimental as when you got married five years ago,” Felicity said with a bright smile as she decided that a better waste of her time would be pacing the length of the pavilion.
“I am proud of it,” Edward said as he smirked at Felicity.  “And it has only gotten worse with each child.”
“Our third,” Deborah grinned, then looked thoughtfully at Edward.  “Or third and fourth.  Maggie is quite sure that I am carrying twins this time.”
“With how much you have been eating lately, I would not be surprised,” Felicity chuckled.  She turned around in anticipation as Davis appeared on the steps of the pavilion.  “Well?”
“You must wait at least five more minutes mother,” Davis laughed as he rushed up the steps to her.  “The timing must be perfect.”
“As you say,” Felicity said, feeling her anxiety ease off slightly.  She smiled at how much Davis had grown in the past six years that he had been born, choosing to age naturally with Christopher and Brianna rather than age into an adult quickly as most of his kind did.  Though his long white hair marked him as a Waef as well as his strange manner of clothing that no one else wore, his face looked more human the more he stayed with Felicity and James and learned about humans.  He had been able to soothe Felicity more than even Edward had been able to over the months James had been gone.  “Thank you, Davis.”
“You are welcome mother,” Davis smiled.  “Is Christopher done?  Or Brianna?  I need to bring one of them to visit one of the women I am keeping tabs on.  She says that she will not let me help unless I prove that I have a human friend.”
“I am ready,” Christopher said as he stopped producing fire magic.  “Which woman are we seeing?”
“The widow in Jarla Forest,” Davis answered readily as he nearly hopped down the steps in anticipation.
“Stop and see Cook before you leave and take her some of his desserts,” Felicity told him.  She was so proud of Davis still trying to find all of the women that Air-Of-Earth took from their families.  She was even prouder when he specifically requested her, James, or even Christopher and Brianna to accompany him to help him.  She grinned at the pair that Christopher and Davis made.  Christopher, now fifteen, was beginning to flesh out into a man as his long brown hair was tied at the nape of his neck.  “With both of you handsome boys, she will have a hard time resisting.”
“Aunt Felicity,” Christopher groaned even as he flushed with pleasure.
“Wait for me,” Brianna commanded from outside the pavilion.  “I am almost finished painting.”
“And of course if a stunning young woman like Brianna comes along, then there is nothing that can stand in your way,” Edward said with a dramatic wave of his hand.
“Thank you Uncle Edward,” Brianna said as she concentrated on the last flourish of a flower that she was painting.  She had grown into a tall and willowy woman with long blond hair.  “Aunt Felicity, whenever you and Uncle James decide to reappear again, we will have another music lesson, right?”
“Of course dear.  And then right afterwards we will have another painting lesson for me,” Felicity laughed as she managed to stop jittering long enough to come down the steps to give Brianna a hug goodbye.
“I adore how you cannot paint, and I cannot do any music, but we still keep trying,” Brianna laughed as she hugged Felicity back.
“You have the singing voice of a crow,” Christopher said as he gave her a light jab in the side.
“I may not have magic but I can still whip you into shape,” Brianna said with narrowed eyes as she began to chase Christopher around the pavilion.
“That sounds like us ten years ago.  They truly are just like twins,” Edward said as he put an arm around Felicity and gave her a sort of half hug.  “Our children already sound like that.”  Edward mentally hit himself when he saw Felicity’s wistful look.  “You will have children one day, Felicity.”
“That is what all of this is for,” Felicity whispered.  “Do not say anything to Davis.  He thinks that it is his fault that I have not had any children yet.”
“How?  That is ridiculous!” Edward said in hushed tones as they watched Davis separate a squealing Brianna from a laughing Christopher from the wrestling match they were having.
“He says that every Waef when he is born unconsciously puts a barrier in the woman’s body.  After a certain amount of time the barrier falls and the woman can have children again, but because I have so much power, and he had to put so much power into breaking the first barrier, the barrier I have is much more powerful, which is why it has not gone away yet.”
“So because James went away for six months and the two of you agreed to not have any contact whatsoever, Davis thinks that when you meet today that it will be enough to break the barrier,” Edward said as his mind quickly put everything together.  “I hope it works.”
“Me too,” Felicity said with a tight smile.  She looked up at Edward hopefully.  “If not, I am adopting every child I see.”
“I hope James agrees to that,” Deborah said as she came up beside Felicity’s other side and patted her shoulder.
“He will not have a choice,” Felicity laughed as she in turn gave Deborah a tight hug.
“It will work,” Deborah whispered.  “I will tell Lauren that you are doing fine.”
“Thank you,” Felicity whispered back.  “Now the two of you go!  Both of you have done a fabulous job here.”
“Thank you,” they chorused together and disappeared.
“Father will be here any minute,” Davis said as he quickly hugged Felicity and grabbed Brianna’s hand.  Christopher grabbed her other hand as the three of them waved and smiled.
“Have a good time Aunt Felicity!” Brianna laughed.
“Brianna,” Christopher exclaimed as he rolled his eyes as they disappeared to Jarla Forest.
Felicity chuckled as she began to jump up and down again in anticipation of James coming.  She closed her eyes.  “All right.  When I get to one and open my eyes, James will be in front of me.”
“Do we have to wait until one?”
Felicity’s eyes flew open in shock to see James standing five feet away from her.  “James!” she screeched as she prepared to launch herself into his arms, then stopped herself.
“What?  No run and jump on me?”
“We have to wait another two minutes,” Felicity said reluctantly.
“Why?”
“Later.  I cannot remember.  Look around and tell me what you think.”
“Of what?”
Felicity smiled proudly.  “Of the Four Elements Pavillion.”
James kept his frustration and agitation under the surface as he looked around.  Through his annoyance at having to wait to have Felicity in his arms, he was amazed at what Felicity, and most likely Edward, Deborah, Rainford, Davis, and Christopher, were able to do in six months.
The Four Elements Pavilion was situated on a cliff in the Andolous Mountains.  The floor of the cliff was flat and covered with grass and flowers.  The cliff was surrounded by three rock walls; on the left side was a small waterfall that made a pool at its foot.  The pool was filled with fish, lily pads, and water lilies with rocks across the pool to walk across.  On the right side was a fire flame hovering above the only bare rock on the cliff.  In the center was a white pavilion, which had been decorated with all four element symbols, but also had landscape scenes of mountains, lakes, plains, and even deserts along the bottom.
“It is beautiful,” James said as he took a step closer to Felicity, who took a step back in return.
“Uncle Rainford told me that I had to do something productive with my time while you were away, otherwise he would personally ground me to my room,” Felicity said as she gave a strained chuckle as James moved closer to her.
“Can I touch you now?”
“Yes,” Felicity said, not caring at the moment whether it had been two minutes or not.
“Finally,” James said as he grabbed Felicity around the waist and began to drag her up the pavilion steps.
“How things have changed.  I never thought I would miss the kitten hold,” Felicity said as she wrapped her arms around James.  “I missed you.”
“I was terrible,” James said as he kissed Felicity.
“I was too,” Felicity said as she kissed him back.  “By the way, this is our real escape honeymoon.”
“Excuse me?” James asked as he tried to focus on what Felicity was saying.
“Remember my story about how the Laulaon royal takes their spouse on a long honeymoon away from everyone?  I do not count the quest as that.  This is our true honeymoon.”
“Good.  That means you are not going to talk for the next few hours.  Do you think you can handle that?”
“I think so,” Felicity smiled as they kissed again.
